How does the NBN Upgrade work ?

The solution works in such a way that fifty percent of each alarm call goes over IP (your Internet connection) and fifty percent goes over a landline (into the monitoring company). When our custom NBN alarm monitoring settings are downloaded into any "off the shelf" Linksys Analog Terminal Adapter, they make the device compatible with the NBN and enable it to act as an IP alarm transmitter that has full control of the IP portion of any calls. The solution has built-in network redundancy and failover which can also easily be upgraded to Dual Path Signalling.

The NBN upgrade device makes a call over your Internet connection and we transfer it onto the PSTN landline phone network, where it is connected to the alarm receiver at your existing alarm monitoring company. This type of setup irons out all the well documented problems that prevent alarms from working reliably over a standard VoIP network.

How much does it cost ?

You can purchase Linksys VoIP adapters (PAP2T SPA3102) from your favourite local or online supplier and then we charge a one-off fee of $29 to download the NBN firmware into your device. The ongoing cost for service is $4.95 per month.

You would be required to pay an initial credit of $10 to cover the cost of any calls from your panel to the Monitoring Centre. How long this credit lasts will depend largely on whether or not your panel calls a local number or a 1300 number.

We saved the best bit until last. Your existing Back to Base Alarm Monitoring Company will not notice any changes in your setup and will be none the wiser that you have switched to the NBN!
